The Dispute Resolution Department of W. Davies helps companies, businesses and individuals alike to resolve their problems and disputes in the most cost-effective and practical way.
Our solicitors are highly experienced in handling a wide range of disputes at all levels. If there is a problem that we feel is beyond our expertise, we will tell you and help you find the best representation for your problem. We don’t believe in soldiering on for the sake of it - that doesn’t help you and it harms our hard-won reputation. As we have many decades of combined litigation experience between us, these instances are few and far between.
Our approach is to listen carefully to your problem so that we fully understand all the issues you are facing so that we can work out an effective strategy with you to help resolve the dispute. We always regard court as the last resort, as an out of court settlement is almost always better, quicker and cheaper for all concerned. However, we recognise that sometimes court proceedings are necessary to force the issue or where you may not have the luxury of choice as you are already defending a court case. Either way, our litigation experts at W. Davies are very experienced in court procedure and often conduct their own advocacy. One of the litigation partners, Freddie Lawson, is a Solicitor Advocate which grants him rights of audience in the Higher Civil Courts and Court of Appeal.
W. Davies undertakes civil court work at all levels as well as formal arbitrations. We also undertake and assist with mediation of disputes.
All our Dispute Resolution solicitors have particular expertise in specific areas of litigation. We have separate pages on each core area – but this does not represent all that we do. If your problem falls outside of these areas, or you cannot find what you are looking for, please call us. We are always happy to discuss your problems further in the strictest of confidence and then let you know how we can help you.
