About Domestic Violence & Forced Marriages

Domestic Violence
If you have been subjected to domestic violence, we can help you to obtain a Court Order to prevent the perpetrator from continuing the harassment and violence towards you - whether this abuse is verbal, physical, or emotional. We will apply for emergency injunctions without giving notice to the perpetrator. We can apply for a non-molestation order which will prohibit any further violence and harassment and/or an occupation order if it is necessary to remove the perpetrator from the home.

Forced Marriage
It is very common for undue pressure to marry to be placed on a person by their proposed partner or by a third party. Often, this pressure can amount to a person being forced to marry someone when they do not wish to do so. This can be for cultural or for religious reasons.

New legislation has come in to force under which a protection order can be sought to protect a person being forced into marriage. We are able to advise you about this and make the necessary applications to Court if necessary.
