Our Litigation & Disputes solicitors advise upon and act for clients in mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution. We also provide mediation services as a third party to a dispute.
Mediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and is actively encouraged by the Courts and in fact there can be costs consequences of declining ADR.
ADR refers to different ways of resolving a dispute, other than through the court system. It is often the most flexible and effective way to reach a mutually beneficial resolution, and has the added benefit of being significantly less costly than the alternative of pursuing a case in Court.
Freddie Lawson, one of our litigation solicitors, and a Director of W Davies Solicitors, is a CEDR accredited Mediator. A qualified and experienced Mediator, he’s a member and former Chair of Woking Community Mediation Service.
Holly Papworth, one of our trainee litigation solicitors (soon to be qualified), is also a PDSL, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Civil Mediation Council and International Mediation Institute qualified Mediator.
