Graham's responsibilities include:

• Development work for builders including land assembly, acquisition and subsequent re-sales

• Planning and adoption agreements

• The grant and renewal of leases

• Planning, environmental and construction issues.

Graham qualified in 1977 and specialises in development work. He joined W. Davies in 2004, coming from a local construction company where he was a director and legal adviser. He became a partner in 2005.

Graham is a keen model engineer and a target shooter.

Simon's responsibilities include:

• Commercial Property dealings

• High-level leasing

• Commercial Property work for the local authority

• Residential development

• Company work.

Simon joined W. Davies in 1960 as an articled clerk. He became an assistant solicitor in 1965, before being made a partner at the age of 27.

Originally, he dealt with criminal and matrimonial cases, but for the last 30 years he has moved the firm towards being a commercial, private client and litigation practice.

Simon has acquired a huge number of clients in all walks of life. He acts for a number of charities, including Woking Hospice, of which he is a Trustee. He has also carried out the legal work to found the Abbeyfield in Pirbright and is currently acting for Woking Galleries in connection with The Lightbox.

Simon’s interests include book collecting, especially First World War material and modern first editions.

Carolynn’s experience covers a broad range of property-related matters, but these predominantly involve commercial property. Her work includes the following:

• Commercial property (freehold and leasehold)

• Options and conditional contracts

• Renewals of business tenancies/leases of business premises

• Acquisitions and sales of small businesses

• Developers’ site acquisitions and re-sales

• Secured lending

• Residential Investment Portfolios.

Carolynn qualified in 1991. She joined W. Davies in 1997 as a locum, following maternity leave. She became a partner in 2002 and is now a practicing consultant.

Her leisure time is dominated by an active family, but she enjoys travel, running and the theatre.

John’s work includes:

• Buying and selling freehold and leasehold residential properties

• Dealing with properties having both residential and commercial aspects

• Advising commercial clients

• Working for certain private clients (Wills and Probate matters).

An example of John’s work is acting for small to medium-sized building developers. This includes investigating sites; helping to obtain planning permission, restrictive covenant indemnity policies and rights of way; registering with the National House Building Council; and marketing the properties.

John was a partner of Tilbrook Turner Foster, which merged with W. Davies & Son in 2006, to form W. Davies.

He is a trustee of various charities, including Pilgrim Homes, which provides residential care for the elderly throughout the country.

John’s interests include his family, the church, walking and steam railway engines.
