This Year’s Golf Day – 14th August 2015
This year W Davies celebrated their 25th annual Golf Day, at Guildford Golf Club.
The weather was changeable, remaining dry but humid for the morning but breaking out into rain for the afternoon. Fortunately, the rain cleared up after six or so holes (but after we all got wet) and turned into more of a light drizzle although everyone’s spirits remained high!
Everyone fought their way through and had a good time. Drinks and dinner were very welcome at the end of a successful and enjoyable day.
A record sum was raised for our two charities, the NSPCC and Woking Lighthouse Foodbank. Thank you to all of our guests for joining us and thank you to Trudi, Caroline and Helen for making it all happen once again.
Our guests from Old Square Chambers competed for the Cotter “Club Snapper Cup” which was won by Paul Rose after a hard fought contest.
Andrew Curran took the individual title, the David Christie Cup, with a stunning display while Freddie Lawson’s Team took the team prize in the afternoon.
The Steven Weddle Prize for the Otherwise Unrewarded Golfer was easily secured by Jim Laity for the most interesting shot of the day.
